2. Contract Practice (15 credits)
The module aims to provide students an appreciation and understanding of Contract Practice primarily focusing on standard forms of building and civil engineering contracts, their principal procedures, commercial and operational issues in ensuring the successful delivery of a construction project.
3. Geotechnical Engineering (15 credits)
This module has been designed to enable learners to use problem-based learning to understand theories of geotechnics and their application, knowledge and ability to work in teams and lead teams including the aptitude to work independently and understand the importance of being a reflective and innovative professional.
4. Structural Design and Analysis 2 (15 credits)
The module aims to provide students an understanding of Structural Design and relate it to information previously learned in Mechanics, and to develop students intellectual and practical competence and broadening the range of knowledge of analytical, technical and economic aspects of civil engineering projects.
5. Civils Measurement and Costing (15 credits)
The module aims to provide students an appreciation and understanding of Contract Practice primarily focus on standard forms of building and civil engineering contracts; Combining the commercial management and contract practice skills to successfully procure various types of construction projects and cost manage the process from inception to completion of the works. Quantification of construction projects to facilitate confident cost advice and procurement documentation.
